I began playing drums and producing electronic music at 16 years old, played in bands and DJed in Berlin for 5 years, studied Ethnomusicology focusing on traditional African instruments in Windhoek, Namibia. I am bilingual (German and English), love all forms of music and have over 15 years of childcare experience. I specialize in percussion instruments including drum kit, djembe and hand pan but have experience with many other instruments such as; guitar, marimba, kalimba, ukulele, guitar & piano.

Harry Charles is a multi-instrumentalist from Rock Hill, South Carolina. He began playing piano in his early teens and has developed a high musical proficiency and repertoire spanning many genres and styles. He has performed extensively throughout the southeast with his award-winning musical variety show “Harry & Harrison.” Harry believes that with the right instruction, anyone can become a musician and unlock their own potential.

Music has been a part of my life since I can remember. It’s the biggest part of my life and I hope to share that magic with every one of my students. As a multi-instrumentalist I offer a tailored approach to the needs and goals of all of my students regardless of instrument!

Phillip performed with Opera Carolina among other opera/musical theater companies before obtaining a masters degree in Music Performance from UNCG. He has spent his post-graduate career dedicating himself to his students. Regardless of age or gender, he always works with each individual to help them achieve their goals in a way that works for them. He understands that there is no one way to teach, and each lesson should be individually tailored to the student’s style of learning.

I’m passionate about writing and performing music, helping others reach their goals, and learning. Teaching is the most rewarding career for me. It’s the best way to practice my craft daily while helping others achieve new heights.

JT is a musician and teacher with a deep passion for anything musical. He first picked up guitar at age seven, and throughout the years has added a variety of instruments into his musical portfolio. He has eight years of experience recording, performing, and teaching music across North Carolina and beyond. You can often find him performing with one of his bands, investigating the local record shops, or enjoying the weather with a book and a cup of tea.

I’ve been playing piano since I was 7 years old and I started teaching when I was 16! I went to Northwest School of the Arts for Piano and Band. I have continued my studies and love passing along my inspiration to all of my students!

Lisa Weber has been teaching in and around the Charlotte area for over 13 years. She specializes in piano, voice, guitar and composition. She earned her Associate of Fine Arts Degree in Music at Central Piedmont Community College. There she specialized in classical piano and voice, while also studying guitar, composition, and audio engineering. She is currently teaching, composing and continuing her education. Lisa’s main interests now are to assist others in developing their own talents and passion for music.

I grew up around music with my dad being a choir director and music teacher for my childhood. I have been a full time dueling piano player for 13 years now, and I enjoy performing. I love teaching, and helping spark a love of music in a student.

I began guitar as a casual hobby during my first year of college, but it quickly blossomed into a fervent passion that I now strive to nurture every day. Playing and practicing music every day is something I would do regardless of my circumstances, so an opportunity to teach it professionally is a great privilege.

I have spent my life learning how music works and performing. I play regularly with local orchestras and seek out opportunities to grow and improve. I am also a founding member of the CinciSon Latin group in Cincinnati, OH.

Maranda is a graduate of Vanderbilt University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in History with a Music Minor (voice). She has been teaching voice and piano with Bold for almost 6 years and loves seeing her students progress and grow as musicians.

David D’Angelo is a multiinstrumentalist (piano/guitar/bass), producer, composer, songwriter, performing artist & DJ. His first love is piano, which he has been playing since age 7 and teaching for 15 years now, including over 4 years with Bold Music!

Chad White teaches Trumpet, Piano, Drums, Guitar, Bass and Ukulele. A multi-instrumentalist, Chad is a 2020 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where he studied Music as well as Arts Administration. Chad is a Charlotte resident and has many years of experience playing music professionally and has played in various musical ensembles including the UNCG Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, and Trumpet Ensemble, as well as other local bands.

I am a seasoned multi-instrumentalist with over 16 years of piano experience, alongside guitar and bass expertise. My repertoire spans classical, jazz, hymns, and contemporary Christian music, shaped by years of performing for local churches, gospel choirs, and live shows across Charlotte, NC and Williamsburg, VA. I majored in music at the College of William & Mary and love to share my love for music through teaching, conversation, and demonstration.

I studied music at college and have been playing professionally for over ten years. I play various genres of music across the East Coast with my band and other groups.

I’ve been a gigging and recording musician since 2003. I have a wide range of experience as a music director, songwriter, and engineer. Currently, I play in two bands: Bass with the alt folk group Logan & The Misadventure, and guitar in the upcoming 80’s cover band Boombox Legends.

Jackson Harden is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and performer from Utah and now residing in Concord. He got his start in music at the age of eight when he started taking private lessons for guitar, now his primary instrument, specializing in fingerstyle picking and folk & rock music. Over the twenty years since then he has picked up the piano, bass, banjo, harmonica, and lap steel guitar as well. He attended Snow College for music and graduated with a Bachelors of Commercial Music degree in 2019 which provided him with a thorough education of music theory, technique, ear training, composition and wide range of genres and musical styles. Some of his favorite artists include Bob Dylan, The Beatles, and Arctic Monkeys.

Colby is a Raleigh native and graduate of North Carolina Wesleyan University where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Music Production. He has years of experience playing gigs in several acts as a guitarist as well as occasionally playing bass and drums. Colby also has experience in live sound and production on both the semi and professional level ranging from personal projects to engineering and recording classical and jazz ensembles. He enjoys helping his students explore music and acheive growth through accomplishing their personal musical goals.

I have been playing the guitar for 22 years. I’ve played in multiple bands (blues, jazz, rock, indie). I record original music and always continue to find new ways to explore sound.

I grew up playing and studying classical music in South Carolina, performing in a variety of ensembles and orchestras, both professional and amateur. In college I began studying jazz and improvisation performing both solo and in Clemson’s jazz ensembles, as well as forming a few informal groups with other students. I now live in Atlanta, teaching private lessons and performing and recording as much as I can!

I first started playing guitar when I was 8 years old after being exposed to music through my parents and guitar hero and rockband. Music is an outlet that has provided me with so many opportunities such as traveling, meeting lifelong friends, and making art that can be shared with people.

Dillon’s passion for music began at an early age, growing up in a home filled with musical toys and instruments. Their formal musical education started in elementary school orchestra and expanded through private guitar lessons and like-minded friends. From performing in string quartets and rock bands to recording and producing music, Dillon enjoys exploring all parts of music.

Terrance Shepherd is a genre-blending pianist, composer, and educator whose work spans classical, jazz, hip-hop, R&B, and contemporary styles. His experience includes performing on Alicia Keys’ Instagram, directing Hip Hop Orchestrated, and contributing to *Bach to Tupac* a project that bridges classical music with hip-hop culture. He now teaches at Central Piedmont Community College and is an active member of the Charlotte Piano Teachers Forum, supporting students as they grow in confidence and creative expression.

I began my musical journey with piano lessons at the age of 5 and have been doing some form of music ever since then! In 2019, I received my music degree in Vocal Performance at Winthrop University. When I’m not teaching, you can find me making music with my husband or singing in non-profit choirs in the Charlotte area!

Charlotte based singer/songwriter, producer, and teacher – Domenice Elcock has been teaching piano, holistic vocal training, vocal therapy, songwriting, production, and artist development for 10 years. With experience ranging from theatre/musicals, choir directing, composing, live shows, studio recording to doing one on one sessions, she has created and contributed to forming safe spaces for others to explore a vast musical landscape and learn about themselves in the process.

Georgette Class-Peters is an award-winning singer-songwriter, vocal coach, and educator with over 10 years of experience helping students discover the power of their voice. A Ghana Music Awards winner who has performed alongside artists like Ne-Yo and Keri Hilson, she brings both professional artistry and heartfelt mentorship to every lesson. Her mission is to empower singers to grow in confidence, skill, and authentic expression through faith and music.

My initial background started on blues and rock from the 60’s and 70s, but throughout the years I’ve grown my interest in other genres through the various projects I’ve been a part of such as jazz, country/Americana, folk, metal, CCM, and even early music from medieval and Renaissance periods. I also love writing music, whether it’s contributing parts to a song my band is working on to creating full songs of my own.

Massachusetts native and lifelong musician with a deep-rooted passion for music. Now based in Charlotte, NC, my musical journey began at age 8 with piano and music reading, followed by guitar and bass at 13. By 15, I had joined my first band, and at 16, I taught myself to sing and write original songs—marking the start of a creative path that continues to evolve.

I took classical piano lessons since I was 5 years old, I play keys in a band and do various side projects. I am self taught on Ukulele, and have been taking voice lessons and participating in choirs and solo projects since high school and have done voice coaching as my main since. I have been teaching with Bold for over a year.

Danielle graduated with a Bachelors’ degree in Opera Performance from the University of Southern California. She toured with VOX Lumiere’s Phantom of the Opera throughout Canada, Portugal and the United States. She worked as a production singer on board Princess Cruise Lines, where she discovered her joy for teaching. Danielle had the privilege of coaching students in Middle, and High Schools and directing an after-school musical program and continues to enjoy teaching new talent and providing performance opportunities.

I began my musical journey at 11 in my school band playing flute. In undergrad I majored in music education. I have experience in a classroom setting as well as having taught private lessons on flute and piano for 4 years.

Robert is a composer, pianist, conductor, and clarinetist from Salt Lake City, Utah working in the Atlanta area. Robert holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Utah Valley University, graduating in 2024 with Academic Honors and awarded the Dean’s Award for Outstanding Music Graduate.

I started playing piano, drums and singing in Church, with aspirations to be like Prince. That foundation ultimately led to classical voice, and now I am a 2 time Grammy winner performer at the Metropolitan Opera, and have helped produce music with some of the biggest names in Pop and hip hop.

Jenn is a passionate and versatile professional musician who teaches saxophone, flute, piano, and voice. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN as a saxophonist. During her time in school, she won the Senior Honors Competition and performed the Lars-Erik Larsson Concerto with the Concordia Orchestra. She was also section leader in the Concordia Band and Jazz Ensemble 1, led multiple saxophone quartets, sang in choir, and performed in the SaxArts Festival in Faenza, Italy in 2018 with other musicians from around the world. 

As the lead singer, saxophonist, and song writer in the band Short Notice for the past four years, Jenn has shown herself to be fluent in many genres both vocally and on the saxophone. These genres include rock, pop, jazz, alternative and more. As a child, Jenn dreamed of playing in a band, so being a part of Short Notice has been one of her favorite musical experiences!

Church music is another aspect of music that Jenn has quite a bit of experience in. She has directed worship bands for the past 5+ years at Atonement Lutheran Church and with the campus ministry Cru, leading on keyboard and vocals.

Jenn has a passion for musical excellence and helping her students grow because the skills learned as a musician can be applied to many other aspects of life. Jenn also loves coming alongside her students and watching them discover the beauty, expression, and fun that comes from playing music!

Shane is a multi-instrumentalist with years of experience and a Music Degree from UNC Asheville. He specializes in Music Theory and Music History and loves using his knowledge and passion to teach and jam with students. Shane has experience directing and leading different age groups. Shane’s favorite way to teach music is to find patterns and connections within songs emphasizing universal elements like rhythm, dynamics, and note direction.

Growing up Bry began her musical career playing the flute at 11 years old. Through middle and high school, Bry studied privately and was active in her school’s band program. Her passion for music grew as she played music with others in her high school wind ensemble and local honor bands. During her senior year she served as Drum Major. Bry also won numerous awards and scholarships. She followed her passion for music into college.

At UNC Charlotte, Bry graduated with a bachelors of music in Education. Flourishing in her time at UNCC, she was active in many ensembles. In her final two years she worked as principal of the Wind Ensemble and Orchestra. This opened many opportunities, which included playing in the pit for the theater department. While at UNCC she focused on perfecting flute, as well developing her skills as a music educator. In her college studio Bry became proficient at all wind/brass instruments, as well as piano, which were apart of her general studies.

Currently Bry works as a middle school band director at Martin Luther King Middle School in Charlotte. In her first year, Bry hopes to create a positive environment where students are able to grow as both individuals and musicians.

Elaina Trent is an Atlanta-based singer-songwriter and musician who has been playing piano since childhood and discovered her love for singing and songwriting in high school. She has been performing locally since 2019 as both a solo artist and with her acoustic duo, EK Acoustic. She currently has a residency at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Downtown Atlanta and enjoys performing at various wine bars and restaurants around the city as well.

I am a Greek-American classical soprano with a B.A. of Music, and I have been involved in many opera productions throughout the years, the most recent of which was the Berlin Opera Academy’s Cendrillon. I love nurturing young minds and watching students explore their own musicality. My approach to vocal technique relies on proprioception and experimentation, so I will use these concepts to tailor lessons to fit each individual singer’s instrument.

Classically trained since age 5. Lead Songwriter and Artist of my own six piece band that performs in Charlotte regularly “Lucid Dreams”. I can teach either classical or contemporary music to any age.

I was self-taught on the guitar until I went to Winthrop University for Guitar Performance with a focus on Jazz. Taken by music and creativity from a young age, I’ve been fortunate to be a professional touring, gigging and studio musician for over 20 years. Music has brought me on stage at some of the biggest festivals in the world, to the corner of tiny bowling alleys…sometimes in the same weekend.

Peyton Wheeler, mezzo-soprano, is a graduate of The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where she majored in Vocal Performance and minored in German. She performed the role of Dorabella in Così fan tutte at Opera in the Ozarks in Eureka Springs, AR, before later reprising the role at UNCG. Other roles at UNCG include Hansel (Hansel and Gretel), Hata (The Bartered Bride), and Babs (Roman Fever). She also participated in the German for Singers Program at Middlebury College in 2021.

I am a musician who has gained experience in almost every corner of the industry. From beginning with “garage band” roots as a teenager, to playing in marching band, to studying music formally in a conservatory style university, to playing with orchestras, to playing with wedding bands, to composing for musical theatre, to recording in studios, to teaching K-12 students, to providing music therapy for seniors in nursing homes… I have always kept music in my life and I will always keep exploring more. Eric is a dedicated musician and music educator who attended Claflin University as a Music Education major with a concentration in Voice. I have been playing instruments for over 20 years and spent more than half of that time studying classically. I have worked in Music Supervision (Soundtracking) and scored for a short film. I have been a part of many ensembles including youth orchestra. During my time in University I studied Viola under Leilehua Lanzilotti and released music independently as part of a band. I have been teaching privately since college and love to help others find the joy that music brings.

I started out playing saxophone in middle and high school, then joined choir in high school and decided I wanted to teach. At WCU I was apart of the marching band, symphonic band, concert choir and chamber choir. Now, I play piano and sing whenever I get the chance to, teach as much as I can, and learn every day.

I am Korena Kraynak, and I am a life-long, passionate musician. I have been playing piano for over 20 years, and have developed a love of teaching. I’ve been a guitar player for 32 years. I started later the most (at age 19) and for the last 23 years I have been a teacher. My main area of study has been in jazz and improvisation. I have been performing for about 24 years. I have a BA in Music Therapy.

I started playing piano at the age of 3 and was exposed to it a lot due to my mother being a piano instructor. Three years later I learned the violin and stuck with it for years to come, and played in multiple rigorous youth orchestras. I play casually now, but continued my passion for music through teaching.

I have played instruments since I was nine years old. I taught myself to play a couple of instruments. I started out learning drums, then quickly moved to guitar and bass. Ever since I have been blessed to be able to play on a live stage with good friends and I love to teach others who wish to achieve that dream as well!

I have over 25 years of experience with piano and voice. I’ve taught music for over 5 years.

I recieved my Bachelor of Music from UNC Chapel Hill in 2018 and recieved my Masters in Vocal Performance from Trinity Laban Conservatoire in 2020. I currently work as a classroom educator in Madrid, Spain and have been teaching voice and piano for over 8 years. Although I studied opera, nowadays I mainly perform pop and musical theatre.

Nicole Song En Foo is a pianist from Malaysia. She believes music is part of life and everyone can feel the beats. Offering music lessons, she is excited to develop in each student with both the joy of being an artist and the discipline of developing a skill.
Ms. Nicole holds a PAC (Professional Artist Certificate) in collaborative piano in 2020 and M.M in Piano Performance in 2019 at the University of North Carolina School of Arts under the guidance of Professor Margo Garrett and Dr. Polina Khatsko. Her primary mentors included Dr. Dmitri Vorobiev and Dr. Allison Gagnon. She also earned a B.A in Music from the University of Northern Iowa in 2017. As a student, she also earned piano and violin certificates at LTCL (Licentiate Trinity College of London) and ATCL (Associate Trinity College of London) in 2016 and 2011.

I’ve been playing and writing music since I was 10 years old. I’ve played and toured in bands and also write, record and produce my own solo music. I have a BA degree from Berklee College of music in Songwriting and Producing Music with Summa Cum Laude honors. It is such a joy for me that I now get to teach music!

In my journey as a Musician I have found the art to be one of the most enjoyable things in my life. There is nothing like approaching a challenge and knowing that you have the wherewithal to overcome it. Ben is a multi-instrumentalist who has been performing live in the Charlotte area for close to 20 years, both as a solo artist and a band member. He currently hosts weekly full-band improvisational nights (jam sessions) and also performs live as a guitarist, keyboardist, and vocalist with his band that plays regularly throughout the southeast.

I’ve been regularly teaching for about 3 years and off and on for a decade. I originally went to school for opera and left early to pursue my own music career. I later trained with Jan Smith Studios and discovered my true pop voice there.

I have bachelor’s in Arts Studies (Music), a minor in Arts Entrepreneurship, and years of experience in various parts the music field. From writing/producing hardcore songs for my solo project to singing Sabrina Carpenter at karaoke, music is always at the forefront of my life!

I grew up in a musical family taking lessons in cello, violin, and piano as well as participating in musical theater and choir. I picked up guitar and ukulele when I was around 9 years old, the same time I joined my first pop/rock band. During middle school I started teaching music, and I later was a member of a funk band and another rock band. During college, I joined and music directed an a capella group and continued to teach music.

I have been playing and teaching music for almost 50 years! I play a dozen instruments and sing, and have 3 local bands in Raleigh.

I have been playing guitar and bass for 30+ years, keyboard and drums for 15 years. I have a degree in music and dual master’s degrees in the Humanities. Originally from St. Louis Missouri, Nate Kivett moved to California in pursuit of his passion for drumming. He studied at the Los Angeles College of Music, under the instruction of department chairmen Joe Porcaro and Ralph Humphrey. After graduating, he spent five years traveling the world aboard cruise ships playing drums for numerous guest singers, instrumentalists, and Vegas style shows. Since moving to Charlotte, he has maintained a busy life playing drums for various original and top 40’s bands in the area. As a drum instructor, Nate prides himself on patiently encouraging and educating each student so that she or he may realize and expand their passion for drumming.

Gabriel’s love for the piano runs deep. Growing up in a household filled with a diverse mix of rock, pop, funk, jazz, classical, and merengue, he developed a passion for music at an early age. He began piano lessons at six and never looked back, eventually finding work in various recording studios throughout Charlotte and playing gigs across the state.
In his free time, he enjoys camping, building musical instruments, and spending time with friends and family.

I’ve been a full-time musician for 12 yrs. I’ve toured and played with all types of industry artists. Music is my life!

Matt Cairns is a native of Edinburgh, Scotland and studied at the prestigious London College of Music. He has a bachelor’s degree in music performance and a master’s degree in music management. Throughout his career, he has performed professionally both in bands and as a vocal and guitar soloist. Most recently, he toured as a headline act on several major cruise lines, performing a blend of pop, rock and traditional Celtic music from his homeland. He has previously taught private guitar lessons in his hometown in Scotland, and he enjoys mentoring aspiring guitarists of all ages. He and his wife, moved to Charlotte in 2020, and joined Bold Music in 2024 with the goal of providing top-tier guitar education to students in the South Charlotte area.

I am a musical veteran of 20 years on the drumset. I have played as a freelance drummer for bands throughout Columbia sc and fort Mill SC. As of 2026, I have been teaching percussion for 5 years!

I’ve been playing and writing music for 20 years. I currently own, manage and play in the band Heads Up Penny; we’ve been gigging full time for 10 years. I’ve also been a music instructor for about 10 years – I love teaching voice, guitar and songwriting.

Jay Rydel has been a freelance musician since 2015. Often playing over 100 gigs a year, he performs pop, rock, blues, jazz, R&B, country, folk, funk, soul, hip-hop, and more. Today he focuses on writing, recording, and producing his original music as well as collaborating with other artists and musicians. He started releasing his own music in 2020.

I have been a full time musician for the past several years, writing, recording, and touring with various acts across the Carolinas. I currently perform with traditional country group Jason Moss & The Hosses and a rock n roll band The Girls.

I’ve been teaching and performing in the Charlotte area for the past eight years. Whether through vocal, instrumental, or composition lessons, I take great joy in guiding students who are eager to deepen their skills and grow within the world of music.

Nadya is a classically trained flute and piano player who also has great improvisational skills and experience teaching all styles of music!
