Sebastian Mijangos Plazas

Sebastian Mijangos Plazas is a Music Education student at Georgia State University. He is a multi-instrumentalist in the Metro-Atlanta area. His primary instrument is flute, but he is an experienced pianist and vocalist as well. He first discovered his love for music around the age of 8 with the introduction of the Disney Channel Original Movie “High School Musical” but found his true passion for instrumental music in middle school when he was introduced to the world of band. He was first a clarinet player with some minor lessons in voice but after being self-taught in the flute and oboe, he decided to stick with focusing more on the instrumental track.

Sebastian has played in many different ensembles since middle school and enjoys playing and all types of genres. Some notable ensembles include; The Georgia State Wind Orchestra and Concert Band, The Georgia State Panther Band, The Michael O’Neil Singers Choir, Futures Youth Ministry, and more. His main goal for his students is to gain a better understanding of how to play their respective instruments, not just well, but to the best of their ability. To show the music is more than just notes on a page but how one can connect to their emotions and create a performance unlike any other.
