Rahsaan Lacey

Rahsaan Lacey

Rahsaan Lacey began his musical journey at the age of 10 when he picked up the clarinet for the first time. His time with that instrument was short lived, as he fell in love with the electric bass at age 12, which he taught himself to play until he attended school at Berklee College of Music. Rahsaan graduated from Berklee in 2013 with a degree in Electric Bass Performance. His teaching journey began in 2011 while attending school and since then, he has taught over 100 students to play guitar, bass, and piano in various styles. Rahsaan has had the opportunity to study with the likes of Victor Wooten, John Pattitucci, Victor Bailey, Oscar Stagnaro. He uses his diverse set of influences and versatile style of playing to develop a student centered approach to teaching. He stresses the importance of a well-balanced musical foundation, covering technique, reading, ear training, repertoire, and composition. Using those principles, he helps every individual become the player they want to be.
