Payton Harkins holds a Bachelors in Music from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem NC. He left home when he was 16 to attend UNCSAs specially tailored high school program for musicians and artists, and stayed after high school to complete his degree.
Since beginning his education he has played concerts all along the east coast. Along with being a teacher and performer he is also a composer. He has composed numerous pieces, some of which were used by the modern dance department at UNCSA and some of which were used in solo performance. He has taught all age groups and numerous styles on the guitar, piano, bass, and ukulele. Payton moved to Charlotte in 2011 to pursue a full time teaching career.
