Melody McClellan is a Charlotte-based singer and actor. She grew up singing hymns, praise and worship, and gospel in the church where her father was Music Minister, and then discovered musical theater, classical music, and bluegrass/folk.
Melody graduated from Converse College in her hometown of Spartanburg, SC with a BM in Vocal Performance. While at Converse, she had the opportunity to travel to Italy, England, Austria, and the Czech Republic to perform, both with the Converse Chamber Singers and featured as the infamous Queen of the Night in Mozart’s The Magic Flute. Melody continues to perform with as many local theater groups as possible, and she and her sister play bluegrass music every time they get together.
Melody first started teaching music lessons in 2006. Back then, she was a high school violinist and taught beginner violinists through a student teaching program at Spartanburg High. In college, she added teaching voice lessons to her repertoire, and added piano lessons when she moved to Charlotte in 2011. Teaching private lessons is near and dear to her heart, and she loves to watch students’ eyes light up when they nail a particularly hard musical passage or understand something new for the first time.
