Devyn Dayton

Devyn first picked up the guitar as a young teenager; she worked hard to teach herself a variety of techniques and styles, most notably rock and blues. She started working for Southbrook church when she was in middle school; she played lead and rhythm guitar as well as drum kit for the worship band most Sundays out of the year. She even worked as a worship intern for this church at the age of fourteen. In high school, she had the opportunity to play guitar for her school jazz band, where she gained further performance experience and knowledge of music theory.

Upon graduating high school, Devyn enrolled in the fine arts program at Central Piedmont Community College where she studied classical guitar, piano, music history, and music theory with some of Charlotte’s most proficient musicians and educators. It was during her time at CPCC that Devyn originally began working for Bold Music as a guitar and drum instructor. She graduated with her Associates in Fine Arts in 2017 before receiving academic and talent-based scholarships to finish her Bachelor of Arts at Queens University of Charlotte. She plans on graduating in the spring of 2020 with her four-year degree in music performance.

Outside of teaching, Devyn works as a grillmaster at Genghis Grill and enjoys jamming with her musician friends in her spare time. She is excited to be back with BOLD and is looking forward to working with her new students!
