Celia Butterworth

Celia Butterworth is from Hendersonville, North Carolina, where she fell in love with the small musical theatre scene in Western North Carolina. She attended as many shows as she could with her grandmother starting at the age of two or three. She sang in her high school choir all four years, joined an auditioned concert choir in the area, and played roles in community theatre such as Glinda in The Wizard of Oz and Tracy Turnblad in Hairspray.

Currently, Celia is a Senior pursuing a degree in Music with a concentration in General/Choral Education at UNC Charlotte. She has worked as a choral scholar at both Quail Hollow Presbyterian Church and Selwyn Avenue Presbyterian Church. Through the UNCC Choirs program, Celia has had the opportunity to take a choral tour of Italy and participated in an exchange program with Tohoku University in Japan.

Celia’s main goal is to create a safe environment for all kinds of students to foster their love for music and looks forward to meeting new voice and piano students.
