Austin McNeill was born and raised in the small town of Salisbury, NC. From age 5 he was singing in his hometown choir, and at age 15 he began teaching himself guitar. As a teenager Austin spent time as a singer and guitarist for a worship band at his church. He graduated from UNC Charlotte in 2018 with a degree in Marketing Analytics, and during his time at UNCC he formed his first band, The Austin McNeill Band.
In 2019, Austin founded the band Seven Day Haze, for which he is the lead singer and guitarist. The band actively plays shows throughout the Carolinas and has published music on all major platforms. In his free time Austin enjoys writing, recording, producing, and promoting through digital content creation. Austin’s musical taste ranges from Blues, Rock, Country, and R&B. He is inspired by artists and bands like Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Joe Walsh, Chris Cornell, Led Zeppelin, Def Leppard, Aerosmith, Lynard Skynard, Ray Charles, B.B. King, Smokey Robinson, and other Classic Rock and Motown greats.
Austin can be found playing solo and with Seven Day Haze, and he is passionate about sharing his love for music with his students. He feels that music is a way of life and is always striving to become a better musician and teacher.
